LAYTONVILLE, California – This year’s “Sneak Peek” lineup announcement created a huge wave of excitement and we are pleased to announce the full artist lineup scheduled to appear at this year’s 17th Annual Kate Wolf Music Festival [KWMF] - June 29th, 30th & July 1st, at the beautiful Black Oak Ranch in Laytonville, California and our music schedules by day. Tickets can be purchased online at www.katewolfmusicfestival.com
MUSICIANS include: KWMF debut K.D. LANG AND THE SISS BOOM BANG whose blend of country-rock styling’s and playfully punk-like attitude has earned them a worldwide following; LUCINDA WILLIAMS known as “America’s Best Songwriter” and “one of the sharpest, most uncompromising singer-songwriters of any gender”; Grammy Award Nominee MARCIA BALL knows how to raise roofs and tear down walls with her infectious, intelligent and deeply emotional brand of southern boogie, rollicking, roadhouse blues and heartfelt ballads; THE BROTHERS COMATOSE this isn't a band to just sit back and relax to, their shows are a foot-stomping, shout-along, drink-along frenzy of classic bluegrass; Colorado’s legendary LEFTOVER SALMON with their unmistakable, fluid, loose-limbed, and simultaneously rootsy and daring sound; critically acclaimed songwriter RICHARD THOMPSON named one of Rolling Stone Magazine's “Top 20 Guitarists of All Time”; the ultimate Tex-Mex super-group the TEXAS TORNADOS; one of Australia’s premier independent folk/pop bands BLUEHOUSE; the GOOD LUCK THRIFT STORE OUTFIT a hybrid of Americana, folk, rock, bluegrass, and that sweet, old country & western; festival favorite POOR MAN’S WHISKEY and their high octane “Hootenanny" music; RUTHIE FOSTER, a full-on blast of soul and blues, she can burn down any stage with her combustible blend of soul, blues, rock, folk and gospel; BLAME SALLY, their established legacy of song combines country, folk, rock, Celtic and strains of classical music, which brings originality together with a roots sensibility and pop accessibility; JIMMY LAFAVE, this is what Americana is supposed to be! Real, rooted, and uncompromising; Grammy Award Winner LOUDON WAINWRIGHT III, who is by far and away the most candid diarist among the singer-songwriters, he wrings more human truth out of his contradiction than any other songwriter of his generation; JUSTIN TOWNES EARLE, this 29-year-old singer-songwriter has some serious musical heritage to live up to. He's the son of a multi-Grammy-winning US country singer, actor, political activist and long-time Kate Wolf Festival favorite Steve Earle. Its evident to see he's filling this role wonderfully as a masterful storyteller and undeniably compelling performer with an extensive catalogue of folk and country infused songs; BROKEDOWN IN BAKERSFIELD, a collective of acclaimed West Coast artists joining forces in a spirited tribute to the Bakersfield sound, California country music made raw and rocking, spiked with twang and sweetened with heartfelt harmonies.
